| Information about the maker
Edwin Banfield's 'Barometer Makers & Retailers 1600-1900' lists many different Cattanio's and Cattaneo's in York during the early & mid C 19th. The most likely candidates are a partnership between Henry & Joseph Cattaneo at 12 Castlegate York c1845, and Joseph Cattaneo of 1 South Entrance, who was bankrupt in 1849 but in business again in 1851. |
