Description of the item
An attractive 'Sheraton' mahogany mercury barometer from the Regency period and well worthy of restoration. Very original throughout. 8" dial. Of excellent quality typical of this period with good veneers and double stringing. Spirit thermometer.

Information about the maker
The records show two possible entries for M Maggi. One in Exeter 1825-50 and another in London 1820-40.




Condition Report
The barometer requires restoration but doesn't need a huge amount of work. It is a) original and b) complete. The glass is broken. The veneers to the side of the case have the usual bubbling. The finish around the thermometer needs tidying. The mercury tube requires replacing.
