Description of the item
An attractive 'Onion' top Rosewood mercury barometer well worthy of restoration. Very original throughout. Lubenham is in Leicestershire, nr Market Harborough. 'Level' showing the maker's name. Hygrometer. Spirit thermometer.
Dimensions: Length 43"; Width 10". (Appx)

Information about the maker
The records show a G Rimmington in Lubenham from 1849-64. He is recorded as being a clockmaker.

Condition Report
The barometer requires restoration. The exterior is nice and sleepy and wouldn't need much effort to return to a reasonable standard. It would take much more work to return to an 'as-new' condition. The mercury tube requires replacing. The setting knob (under the main dial) is missing.
