Description of the item A large architectural style clock in excellent order, representing very good value. The black Belgian Slate case (referred to as 'marble') with green veined marble columns and details. Good quality 8-day movement, striking on a gong with a pleasant tone. c1890 |

| Information about the maker The movement is signed J Marti and marked with a Bronze medal and numbered 769. The medals were awarded at various Paris exhibitions. We estimate the clock was made c1890.

| Condition Report In excellent order. Many of these clocks arrive with badly chipped and stained cases. This has the odd small nibble but you will look for a long time to find one in better order. Often the dials crack badly. This just has two slight hairlines at 12 and 6, as shown in the large photos. The movement has been tested and is running well. It looks to have been serviced a couple of years ago. |
