Description of the item
Just arrived and awaiting restoration, an attractive local longcase clock in original condition. 8-day rack striking movement. 14" square painted dial. Oak case with mahogany cross banding.
7' 1" tall, (7' 3" inc finial).

Information about the maker
Stokes is recorded as working 1834-48. We estimate this clock was made during around 1840.

Condition Report
In original 'as-acquired' unrestored condition. Complete and original. Movement probably 'a runner' but really needing an overhaul. Dial in excellent shape. Case needs some tidying but could be used as is.

The dial, movement and case are all original to each other (ie not 'married').

Cost of Restoration
To overhaul the movement and provide 12 months warranty, approx £350
