Description of the item Very attractive & Small and Neat bell striking clock. Probably Anglo French (French movement in an English made case). 8-day movement, counts the hours (and marks the half-hours) on a sweet sounding bell. Only 23cm tall. Very desirable due to small size.

| Information about the maker The movement is signed 'W.H.Tooke, succr. de FL. Hausburg a Paris'. W.H. Tooke is also recorded as having a retail outlet in Liverpool in the mid-to-late nineteenth century selling clocks imported from Paris.
The movement and case both carry the number 4849. |

Dimensions & Specification Walnut veneered case with ebonised details. 8 day French anchor escapement movement counting the hours (and marking the ½ hour) on a bell. Slightly convex white enamel dial with blued steel 'moon' hands. Bevelled glass set in a hinged brass bezel.

| Condition Report In excellent retail order. Fully prepared for sale. The case retains its original finish with remarkably few age associated marks, and has no splits or 'shakes' beneath the veneer. The movement has been cleaned and serviced. Dial is damage free. |
