Description of the item
This is a very nice example of an English made dial clock. Although the clock was in very poor condition when we bought it, it was very original and therefore worth the investment. Good mahogany surround, 12" repainted dial to the original layout ('before' photos will be supplied). These models were only just below the fusee models, and were made with good materials to very good standards. |

| Information about the maker
'Astral' was the trade name of Henry W Williamson Ltd who were a volume manfacturer of clocks and watches from London and (this one) Holyhead Road Coventry. They went into receivership in 1931 and became part of S Smith & Sons.
We estimate the clock was made in the 1920s although it may be earlier.

Dimensions & Specification
Made using the very best materials. 3 piece mahogany surround and hinged backbox. Original spun brass bezel with silvered clip-in sight ring. 8-day movement with solid brass plates, solid pinions. Numbered 37262 .
The overall diameter is approx 36.8cm diameter, 13.5cm deep. |

| Condition Report
Fully prepared for sale, with 'before' and 'after' photographic record. The frame and backbox have been refinished which has shown the quality of the mahogany and retained some of the original patination. Dial professionally repainted on an off-white ground. Brass bezel polished and resilvered. Movement fully serviced for sale. Photographic record available. |
