Description of the item Pretty / attractive small dial clock with an interesting history. 8" dial clocks are rare. This example is in excellent order and was made by Elliott - the last volume British volume clockmaker. |

| Information about the maker The clock was made by F.W Elliott's of Croydon Limited during the reign of George VI (1937 to 1952) taking in the period of the Second World War. They were the last of the British volume clock makers and there clocks are very collectable and have a very good reputation for quality.

Dimensions & Specification The clock has its original eight day movement, Serial Number "S 172", which is front winding with a key. The movement is of excellent quality with solid pinnions and a jewelled lever platform escapement mounted above the plates as with carriage clocks. The case is marked with it's acquisition number RD 51829 (on the side) and stamped Elliott on the rear. Overall diameter approx 10.5", max depth 4".

| Condition Report In excellent condition and ready for retail. Keeping accurate time. There is a small scuff to the right of the bezel hinge (see large photo). There are three areas of honest repair to the dial, which are only visable on close examination
