Description of the item
This is a very fine early Victorian 'drop-dial' clock with a single fusee (timepiece) movement.

The case is veneered in Coromandel and inlaid with mother of pearl.

In Clockmakers and Watchmakers of Scotland, Donald White lists a David Gourlay Carnegie in Arbroath, Angus in 1850-5


Dimensions & Specification
The 8-day fusee movement is A shaped and of good quality. The painted 12" dial retains the original signature and is protected by a cast-brass bezel.

Restoration nearly complete. Dial restored (not repainted), case restored.
