Description of the item This is a very fine late Georgian mercury banjo barometer with a stunning 12" silvered dial. It is signed D. Fagioli & Son, Clerkenwell, London. The case is veneered in the best quality flame mahogany . Cast brass bezel with convex glass. Detachable thermometer box. 'Level' showing the maker's name. Hygrometer. Dimensions: Length 43"; Width 14"

| Information about the maker There are several entries for Fagioli in the records. There is Fagioli (Dominic) and Son in partnership at 3 Gt Warner Street, Clerkenwell (our address) from 1840-51. There obviously then moved to numer 10 from 1851-54. We can therefore date this item between 1840-51, probably about 1845.

Condition Report The barometer has been professionally restored to an extremley good, 'as-new' condition. The tube has been cleaned and refilled with fresh mercury.
